The beginning of the trail that leads to the rivers is close to the 45th parallel. A great way to discuss what latitude is with the kids - homeschooling never takes a vacation.

Near the Tower Falls area
The kids playing on the rocks A grizzly bear on the distant hillside. People waiting along side the road for a glimpse at the bear. We waited about 30 min to get our view & pictures. When you see a group of people wit their cameras, binoculars, & spotting scopes you know something good is there to be seen!
